Leslie Ann Fu[3], also known by her online alias Fuslie, is a Chinese-American streamer.

She began streaming League of Legends in 2015 for organizations while maintaining an independent profile. She is known for being highly collaborative, from co-establishing Streamer Camp for up-and-coming streamers, to shared gameplay lobbies with other creators, showcasing her rapport with her longtime friends, including Offline TV.

Having partook in music for most of her life, she has also showcased her singing in several streams, and became one of the faces of Twitch's Twitch Sings app from 2019 until its closure in 2020.

Leslie joined 100 Thieves in May 2021, and later began streaming full-time on Youtube in September 2022.

Background

Fu was born to Chinese parents in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. Fu graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2014, earning a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. Fu attended graduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles for two weeks before dropping out to pursue streaming full-time.

Name

Leslie revealed that her parents named her after actress Lesley Ann Warren, who played Cinderella. Leslie also was given a Chinese name (Cantonese: 傅文恩 Fu Mun Young) or (Mandarin: 傅文恩 Fu Wen En), but she never used it and even her own mother didn't remember it.[4]

Career

Fu began streaming in February 2015 after being introduced to the activity by her roommates. Before branching out towards a wider variety of games, she primarily streamed League of Legends. She briefly was a streamer for professional League of Legends teams Immortals and the now-defunct Phoenix1.

In December 2018, Fu, along with fellow Twitch streamer BoxBox, hosted a 4-day streaming boot camp called Streamer Camp, an event aimed at improving the skills of up-and-coming Twitch streamers and content creators. A second season of the event was held in June 2019 with the hosts being Fu, BoxBox, SlightlyMusical and Valkyrae. The 2020 Season of Streamer Camp was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and it is still unknown if there will be a Streamer Camp in 2021.

In March 2019, Fu partnered with the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) and the Anaheim Ducks hockey team in holding an NHL 19 tournament. The tournament gave away over $25,000 in scholarships and grants to high school students. Fu has also spoken to NASEF voicing her support for women in gaming.

In April 2019, Fu was featured in an advertisement for karaoke video game Twitch Sings.

On December 2, 2019, Fu held a charity fundraiser stream for Stand Up to Cancer.[5] Fu and her viewers raised over $30,000 for cancer research.

Fu was one of many streamers affected by the large wave of DMCA takedown notices issued against Twitch in June of 2020. After receiving two strikes, Fu criticized the platform's response to the situation saying, "On top of it being near impossible for me to delete >100,000 clips, the creator dashboard isn't loading any of my old clips. How am I supposed to protect myself here? This is an issue way bigger than me. Content creators aren't being informed by Twitch on the proper steps to protect themselves from this happening, and there has to be a better way to handle this than suddenly striking our accounts and banning us out of nowhere"

In June 2020, Fu participated in a Chess.com tournament for Twitch streamers titled PogChamps. She made it to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket, where she lost to fellow streamer xQc. Fu would later be one of over 40 streamers featured on the cover of the August 2020 edition of Chess Life.[6]

On September 2, 2020, Fu announced that she signed an exclusive contract with Twitch.

On May 12, 2021, Leslie joined announced that she joined 100 Thieves as a content creator.[7]

On September 6. 2022, Leslie announced that she switched from streaming on Twitch to YouTube Gaming. She began to stream on the platform the following day.

On October 13, 2021, Leslie and Edison announced they have broken up on Twitter.[9]

On March 19, 2022, it was announced that she will live with Kkatamina, Valkyrae, Yvonnie and Sykkuno (Sykkuno lives in Las Vegas but often goes to LA). They are frequently referred as the "Leak House" or "Roomies".
